SAMMY KUHN

Sammy Kuhn is a jazz pianist in the Philadelphia suburbs. He has played piano since he was seven and first explored jazz piano at fourteen. Sammy has performed  in a variety of jazz and other instrumental ensembles, including his school band, orchestra (as a cellist), pit orchestra, and jazz bands. Additionally, he is the youngest member of the Merion Jazz Project, a local jazz band. Sammy was also selected to play in the 2025 PMEA All-State Jazz Ensemble and PMEA District 12 Jazz Ensemble. Some of Sammy's notable jazz instructors include his private teacher, Joe Kerr, as well as Jonathan Ragonese, Gary Smulyan, Jeremy Jordan, and Willerm Delisfort. 

Influenced by Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Thelonius Monk and Tommy Flanagan, Sammy intends to major in music in college, coupled with another major in a math or science field. Outside of jazz, Sammy has arranged synthesizer and keytar parts for his school marching band and several parts for cello and piano groups.
